Updating the Website:

  • Contact Dan Kobler to create a user login. Make your password very obscure and difficult and save on your computer as website “takeovers” are a thing for sites with weak passwords that hackers can take over. While we are not a huge target it would be a huge hassle.
  • Once you have a username and password you will go to happyllamainc.com/login and sign in.
  • Before you do any major updates/upgrades you must back up ENTIRE website. I have found this to be a slow process that I can let run on my computer in the background. If you do not backup and something goes wrong that could be a very expensive mistake.

Updating Main Page Sliders:  

  • Design a banner and Save for Web making it a PNG. Then upload to confirm size requirements Right click on a posted banner for page information. To make sure everything is set to click correctly compare to previously made sliders.

Updating Web Store: 

  • Each item is individually created and has specific criteria that needs to be complete for the store to work correctly. When you are wanting to create a new item open two different windows or screens so that you can copy and paste the things that are the same while changing the items that are item specific.
    • Tips:
      • SKU Codes that have the year built in are important with how many different items we do that are similar from year to year
      • Inventory is always changing in the office when uploading inventory to the website subtract 1-2 items per size so that you do not sell items that are not in stock.
      • When updating inventory make sure that all specific sizing changes save before you move on and click update page every so often to avoid redoing work.
      • If you need help use google and ask your woocommerce question. There are great resources with helpful step by step directions.
      • If setting up email notifications for yourself you cannot use an email address that shares the same URL as your website so you will need to use an already made Gmail account happyllamadenver@gmail.com.

Woo Commerce:

Woo Commerce is the platform we have purchased to manage our online store as it is very user friendly.  You can learn what you need to know about woo commerce by using google. Here are a couple things that will make the learning process easier.

      • Reporting: The reporting we use is NOT actually found on the report tab. In order to pull a report of every order you will sign in, go to the settings tab under woo commerce. On the top right of the page you will see 9 Tabs. On the far right, there is one that says “Order Export” Click on that tab. Fill in the dates you want the report for and like magic you have a report that you can see all orders that need to be fulfilled or can filter by type or order so that you can come up with end of quarter reports etc.
